The NEW APPLE

Apple was on a spree yesterday when it launched the new – iPOD Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, Apple TV, iTunes 10. The only problem is that no matter how many new products they launch or updates they make Steve Jobs still wears the Black Tshirt he has been wearing since Apple incorporated. Mr.Jobs, If you can spend so much money on your products then why not spend a few $ for a new Tshirt 😐

Well lets just leave Mr.Jobs at the moment and see how the new products look like –

Faccebook feels the Heat and adds Location Service

Facebook is undoubtedly the leader when it comes to social-networking sites. But for people like me who are active on FourSquare certainly felt the need of something similar for FB. And if we users felt the need for it then its quiet obvious that the developers and geeks at Facebook too must have realized the need of it. So, the  FB  DEV Team decided to tie-up with Location based social networking leaders FourSqaure instead of wasting time and resources by starting from the scratch. But the sad news is that when I tried using this feature – Limited to the users of the US only will gradually roll out to other locations. K.I.S.S. Guide To Jailbreaking – Iphone/Ipod Touch

I have got so many request on twitter on how to jailbreak an Iphone or Ipod Touch that now instead of mailing each one of you I am publishing the guide to jailbreaking. As its the K.I.S.S. guide to jailbreaking I will KEEP IT SHORT & SIMPLE :

First things First :

1)You should have the latest version of Itunes & .Net Framework 2.0 installed.

2) If these two are applications are already installed then install f0recast.

3)Once f0recast is installed attach your Iphone/Ipod Touch to the PC and run f0recast.

4) f0recast will check your iPods and iPhones to determine whether it is tethered, or unlockable and it will also specify the tool which will be needed to jaibreak your device.

5)After f0recast specifies which tool to use to jailbreak your device go ahead and download it. It can be any of the following tool : blackra1n Pwnage Tool redsn0w sn0wbreeze

6) I would suggest you to use redsn0w if you use Windows PC and Pwnage Tool for MAC.

7)Now its time to decide which firmware do you want to upgrade to latest being 3.1.3( prefer 3.1.2 at the moment) for the list of firmwares and download links visit here – Firmwares

8)Once you have downloaded the Firmware from here, open redsn0w and follow these steps –

• Step 1: You will need to first update/restore to the original iPhone OS firmware 3.1.2 on your iPhone/iPod touch by using the latest version of iTunes.
• Step 2: In redsn0w browse to the Original iPhone OS 3.1.2 .ipsw file for your iPhone/iPod touch.
• Step 3: redsn0w will now verify to see if the .ipsw is valid, and will then automatically patch the original file.
• Step 4: iPhone 2G users can select both “Install Cydia” and “Unlock” options. iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod touch users should only check on “Install Cydia” to jailbreak.
• Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.
• Step 5 Continued: At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.
• Step 6: Sit back and enjoy while redsn0w will do all the rest for you. Once done, your iPhone/iPod touch will restart automatically and you will find it jailbroken with iPhone firmware version 3.1.2.
