July 1, 2009 1 comment

Firefox 3.5 – Faster, Safer, Smarter, Better Mozilla is all set to launch its latest Firefox browser today, the 30th of June. Shiretoko is the codename for Firefox 3.5, and it’s been expected for a while.

To recap, the list of new features includes a new privacy mode (the so-called ‘porn mode’ which Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Apple’s Safari, and Google’s Chrome have all introduced already), location aware browsing, and video rendering without the need for plugins. A release candidate version of 3.5 has been available for some time, with positive reports in terms of speed and performance.

Key Points:

  • Twice as fast as Firefox 3 – The Fastest Firefox Yet

Things move quickly online, and we’ve beefed up the engine that runs Firefox to make sure you can keep up: Firefox 3.5 is more than twice as fast as Firefox 3, and ten times as fast as Firefox 2.* As a result, Web applications like email, photo sites and your favorite social networks will feel snappier and more responsive.

  • Private browsing, tear-off tabs and more – Advancing the Web

We’ve been working hard to make sure Firefox 3.5 brings you the best of the modern web. With new features like private browsing, tear-off tabs and enhancements to the Awesome Bar, plus major performance enhancements, you’ll enjoy life on the cutting edge.

  • The most advanced Firefox yet – Instant Website ID

Want to be extra sure about a site’s legitimacy before you make a purchase? Click on a site favicon for an instant identity overview. Another click digs deeper: how many times have you visited? Are your passwords saved? Check up on suspicious sites, avoid Web forgeries and make sure a site is what it claims to be.

And for all those who are already using firefox 3.x need to update it manually so either update it from check for update option or click here

So, My final word is – Make the switch to Firefox – the faster, safer, smarter way to browse the Web.
